FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
to Make Bigger Impact Than Expected
Lake Wales, FL – March 2nd, 2009 - What would you do to make your dreams come true? Three guys from Central Florida set out on a cross country trip and they made their own dreams come true. Known to their fans online as Wooden Steel Productions, hopped a train and began the journey of a lifetime. This was no ordinary journey, because the final leg of this journey was intended to make an impact on a charity that was to be decided after the trips filming in the summer of 2008. The "Skittin Across America™" DVD Project was finalized earlier this month, and the guys began searching for the perfect Charity.
While on the Skittin Across America™ trip the crew met up with Raab Himself (Viva La Bam), Will Sasso ( Mad TV ), Jess Margera (CKY), Brian Huskey (Step Brothers and Super Bad), and more shooting sketches and interviews that would entertain a wide audience. While traveling on this trip that the group of talented guys raised $4,000 through donations to take, Shane Hartline, head of Wooden Steel Productions read "The Chris Farley Story". The book was written by Tom Farley, who is Chris Farley’s older brother. Tom Farley also heads “The Chris Farley Foundation”. Hartline, who idolizes Farley's past work in comedy, knew he wanted to make an impact in the World of Comedy, and giving the proceeds of their DVD to The Chris Farley Foundation was the way he wanted to do it! After contacting Tom Farley, Farley fell in love with The Skittin Across America™ project, and the idea of a few guys getting off their "butts" and doing something to make their dreams come true. So proceeds of this DVD will go directly to the Chris Farley Foundation.
Also confirmed earlier this week was The Skittin Across America™ DVD Release Concert Event to be held March 21st, 2009 at The House of Blues in Orlando, FL. Wooden Steel Productions is working hand in hand with North South 360 and Abra Cadabra Entertainment to give Free Tickets out on this event at www.northsouth360.com. This concert will feature some of Orlando's Biggest Bands like Lost in Chaos, GORILLAFIGHT, Fall of Envy, Traverser and Munk Tung. Shane Hartline, Scotty Trimmier and the Rest of The Wooden Steel Productions crew will be on hand to host this event as well as many other special guests to be announced closer to the event. The Skittin Across America™ DVD's will be released and on sale at this event, and released soon after on their official website www.skittinacrossamerica.com.
These guys are no strangers to the world of Comedy. In the last couple of years they have created a strong name for themselves online. Their videos can be seen on their website www.woodensteel.tv and have been viewed online over one million times! They have worked with networks such as NBC, CBS, The 101onDirectTV, and have been in talks with shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Total Request Live on MTV. Shane Hartline, whom founded Wooden Steel Productions, won the National Big Shot Live online Acting Competition put together by CBS in early 2008.
This project will be talked about for years to come. "I just want to leave my Impact on the World of Comedy", said Hartline concerning this project, and that's just what he'll do! How could three unknowns from little Lake Wales, Florida really travel and film famous people all over the United States and then get to a stage such as The House of Blues to release it? Well dreams really do come true for those that worked hard enough to obtain them!
